About the Staff Contact Information

Our entire Christian Education program at Trinity Lutheran Church is staffed by volunteers. We have two co-directors (Andrea Cajolet and Kate Torres) and continually strive to provide each classroom with a TEAM of 2-3 teachers. We find that the team-teaching approach allows for flexibility in schedule for our teachers and a terrific opportunity to share our faith with the youth of our church. If you would like more information about our programs, kindly contact Andrea or Kate.

Toddlers/Infants

Our three-year-old class has a custom-developed curriculum based on traditional bible stories. Each child receives a copy of the
"Beginner's Bible" to follow along. On Sunday mornings the nursery is also available.

Pre-K to Grade 6

Ages 4 - Grade 6 use a curriculum from Augsburg Fortress called "Life Together". This lectionary-based curriculum is developed for three age groups: Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4 and K), Lower Elementary (grades 1-3), and Upper Elementary (grades 4-6). We have found that having the weekly lessons tie-into scripture readings helps our youngsters better understand the readings and seasons of our church year. Children in grades two and younger gather for some community singing time each week before heading back to class for a lesson, craft and or activity. Grades 3 and above meet in their own classroom to prepare for a lesson, do bible study, reflect, and interact (through crafts, activities, role-play, church visits, etc.) Students in grade 3 receive a copy of the Study Bible as part of our program.

Grade 7 to 12

Our confirmation instruction begins in grade 7 and is a three year program. We cover topics from New Testament, Old Testament and Catechism. We focus for 2-3 weeks per topic and spend a majority of our classroom time in small group discussion. Family conversations, homework assignments and service projects help students to strengthen their knowledge and share what they have learned with the class and our congregation. Confirmation classes are held during the Christian Education Hour on Sunday Mornings from 9:45am-10:45am during the academic year.
